Sura Al Qamar 54

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِِ
54:1 The hour drew nigh and the moon was rent in twain. Iqtarabati alssaAAatu wainshaqqa alqamaru اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ
54:2 And if they behold a portent they turn away and say: Prolonged illusion. Wa-in yaraw ayatan yuAAridoo wayaqooloo sihrun mustamirrun وَإِن يَرَوْا آيَةً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُّسْتَمِرٌّ
54:3 They denied (the Truth) and followed their own lusts. Yet everything will come to a decision Wakaththaboo waittabaAAoo ahwaahum wakullu amrin mustaqirrun وَكَذَّبُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءهُمْ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ
54:4 And surely there hath come unto them news whereof the purport should deter, Walaqad jaahum mina al-anba-i ma feehi muzdajarun وَلَقَدْ جَاءهُم مِّنَ الْأَنبَاء مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ
54:5 Effective wisdom; but warnings avail not. Hikmatun balighatun fama tughnee alnnuthuru حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَةٌ فَمَا تُغْنِ النُّذُرُ
54:6 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) on the day when the Summoner summoneth unto a painful thing. Fatawalla AAanhum yawma yadAAu alddaAAi ila shay-in nukurin فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَى شَيْءٍ نُّكُرٍ
54:7 With downcast eyes, they come forth from the graves as they were locusts spread abroad, KhushshaAAan absaruhum yakhrujoona mina al-ajdathi kaannahum jaradun muntashirun خُشَّعًا أَبْصَارُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُّنتَشِرٌ
54:8 Hastening toward the summoner; the disbelievers say: This is a hard day. MuhtiAAeena ila alddaAAi yaqoolu alkafiroona hatha yawmun AAasirun مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى الدَّاعِ يَقُولُ الْكَافِرُونَ هَذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ
54:9 The folk of Noah denied before them, yea, they denied Our slave and said: A madman; and he was repulsed. Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin fakaththaboo AAabdana waqaloo majnoonun waizdujira كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ فَكَذَّبُوا عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا مَجْنُونٌ وَازْدُجِرَ
54:10 So he cried unto his Lord, saying: I am vanquished, so give help. FadaAAa rabbahu annee maghloobun faintasir فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَغْلُوبٌ فَانتَصِرْ
54:11 Then opened We the gates of heaven with pouring water Fafatahna abwaba alssama-i bima-in munhamirin فَفَتَحْنَا أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاء بِمَاء مُّنْهَمِرٍ
54:12 And caused the earth to gush forth springs, so that the waters met for a predestined purpose. Wafajjarna al-arda AAuyoonan failtaqa almao AAala amrin qad qudira وَفَجَّرْنَا الْأَرْضَ عُيُونًا فَالْتَقَى الْمَاء عَلَى أَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ
54:13 And We carried him upon a thing of planks and nails, Wahamalnahu AAala thati alwahin wadusurin وَحَمَلْنَاهُ عَلَى ذَاتِ أَلْوَاحٍ وَدُسُرٍ
54:14 That ran (upon the waters) in Our sight, as a reward for him who was rejected. Tajree bi-aAAyunina jazaan liman kana kufira تَجْرِي بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَاء لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ
54:15 And verily We left it as a token; but is there any that remembereth ? Walaqad taraknaha ayatan fahal min muddakirin وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَاهَا آيَةً فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
54:16 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
54:17 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth ? Walaqad yassarna alqur-ana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
54:18 (The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings. Kaththabat AAadun fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
54:19 Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity, Inna arsalna AAalayhim reehan sarsaran fee yawmi nahsin mustamirrin إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُّسْتَمِرٍّ
54:20 Sweeping men away as though they were uprooted trunks of palm-trees. TanziAAu alnnasa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin munqaAAirin تَنزِعُ النَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُّنقَعِرٍ
54:21 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
54:22 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth ? Walaqad yassarna alqur-ana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
54:23 (The tribe of) Thamud rejected warnings Kaththabat thamoodu bialnnuthuri كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِالنُّذُرِ
54:24 For they said; Is it a mortal man, alone among us, that we are to follow ? Then indeed we should fall into error and madness. Faqaloo abasharan minna wahidan nattabiAAuhu inna ithan lafee dalalin wasuAAurin فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرًا مِّنَّا وَاحِدًا نَّتَّبِعُهُ إِنَّا إِذًا لَّفِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ
54:25 Hath the remembrance been given unto him alone among us ? Nay, but he is a rash liar. Aolqiya alththikru AAalayhi min baynina bal huwa kaththabun ashirun أَأُلْقِيَ الذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِن بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ
54:26 (Unto their warner it was said): To-morrow they will know who is the rash liar. SayaAAlamoona ghadan mani alkaththabu al-ashiru سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًا مَّنِ الْكَذَّابُ الْأَشِرُ
54:27 Lo! We are sending the she-camel as a test for them; so watch them and have patience; Inna mursiloo alnnaqati fitnatan lahum fairtaqibhum waistabir إِنَّا مُرْسِلُو النَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَّهُمْ فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ وَاصْطَبِرْ
54:28 And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Every drinking will be witnessed. Wanabbi/hum anna almaa qismatun baynahum kullu shirbin muhtadarun وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ الْمَاء قِسْمَةٌ بَيْنَهُمْ كُلُّ شِرْبٍ مُّحْتَضَرٌ
54:29 But they call their comrade and he took and hamstrung (her). Fanadaw sahibahum fataAAata faAAaqara فَنَادَوْا صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَى فَعَقَرَ
54:30 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
54:31 Lo! We sent upon them one Shout, and they became as the dry twigs (rejected by) the builder of a cattle-fold. Inna arsalna AAalayhim sayhatan wahidatan fakanoo kahasheemi almuhtathiri إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَكَانُوا كَهَشِيمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ
54:32 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth ? Walaqad yassarna alqur-ana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
54:33 The folk of Lot rejected warnings. Kaththabat qawmu lootin bialnnuthuri كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ بِالنُّذُرِ
54:34 Lo! We sent a storm of stones upon them (all) save the family of Lot, whom We rescued in the last watch of the night, Inna arsalna AAalayhim hasiban illa ala lootin najjaynahum bisaharin إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ نَّجَّيْنَاهُم بِسَحَرٍ
54:35 As grace from Us. Thus We reward him who giveth thanks. NiAAmatan min AAindina kathalika najzee man shakara نِعْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي مَن شَكَرَ
54:36 And he indeed had warned them of Our blow, but they did doubt the warnings. Walaqad antharahum batshatana fatamaraw bialnnuthuri وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ
54:37 They even asked of him his guests for an ill purpose. Then We blinded their eyes (and said): Taste now My punishment after My warnings! Walaqad rawadoohu AAan dayfihi fatamasna aAAyunahum fathooqoo AAathabee wanuthuri وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيْفِهِ فَطَمَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
54:38 And in truth the punishment decreed befell them early in the morning. Walaqad sabbahahum bukratan AAathabun mustaqirrun وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُم بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ
54:39 Now taste My punishment after My warnings! Fathooqoo AAathabee wanuthuri فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
54:40 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth ? Walaqad yassarna alqur-ana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
54:41 And warnings came in truth unto the house of Pharaoh Walaqad jaa ala firAAawna alnnuthuru وَلَقَدْ جَاء آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ النُّذُرُ
54:42 Who denied Our revelations, every one. Therefore We grasped them with the grasp of the Mighty, the Powerful. Kaththaboo bi-ayatina kulliha faakhathnahum akhtha AAazeezin muqtadirin كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ
54:43 Are your disbelievers better than those, or have ye some immunity in the scriptures ? Akuffarukum khayrun min ola-ikum am lakum baraatun fee alzzuburi أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أُوْلَئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُم بَرَاءةٌ فِي الزُّبُرِ
54:44 Or say they: We are a host victorious ? Am yaqooloona nahnu jameeAAun muntasirun أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُّنتَصِرٌ
54:45 The hosts will all be routed and will turn and flee. Sayuhzamu aljamAAu wayuwalloona alddubura سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ
54:46 Nay, but the Hour (of doom) is their appointed tryst, and the Hour will be more wretched and more bitter (than their earthly failure). Bali alssaAAatu mawAAiduhum waalssaAAatu adha waamarru بَلِ السَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَالسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَى وَأَمَرُّ
54:47 Lo! the guilty are in error and madness. Inna almujrimeena fee dalalin wasuAAurin إِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ
54:48 On the day when they are dragged into the Fire upon their faces (it is said unto them): Feel the touch of hell. Yawma yushaboona fee alnnari AAala wujoohihim thooqoo massa saqara يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ
54:49 Lo! We have created every thing by measure. Inna kulla shay-in khalaqnahu biqadarin إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ
54:50 And Our commandment is but one (commandment), as the twinkling of an eye. Wama amruna illa wahidatun kalamhin bialbasari وَمَا أَمْرُنَا إِلَّا وَاحِدَةٌ كَلَمْحٍ بِالْبَصَرِ
54:51 And verily We have destroyed your fellows; but is there any that remembereth ? Walaqad ahlakna ashyaAAakum fahal min muddakirin وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
54:52 And every thing they did is in the scriptures, Wakullu shay-in faAAaloohu fee alzzuburi وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ فَعَلُوهُ فِي الزُّبُرِ
54:53 And every small and great thing is recorded. Wakullu sagheerin wakabeerin mustatarun وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٍ وَكَبِيرٍ مُسْتَطَرٌ
54:54 Lo! the righteous will dwell among gardens and rivers, Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatin wanaharin إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَهَرٍ
54:55 Firmly established in the favour of a Mighty King. Fee maqAAadi sidqin AAinda maleekin muqtadirin فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ
