Sura Al Haqqa 69

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِِ
69:1 The Reality! Alhaqqatu الْحَاقَّةُ
69:2 What is the Reality ? Ma alhaqqatu مَا الْحَاقَّةُ
69:3 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! Wama adraka ma alhaqqatu وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحَاقَّةُ
69:4 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. Kaththabat thamoodu waAAadun bialqariAAati كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌ بِالْقَارِعَةِ
69:5 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. Faamma thamoodu faohlikoo bialttaghiyati فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِالطَّاغِيَةِ
69:6 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, Waamma AAadun faohlikoo bireehin sarsarin AAatiyatin وَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِرِيحٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍ
69:7 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm- trees. Sakhkharaha AAalayhim sabAAa layalin wathamaniyata ayyamin husooman fatara alqawma feeha sarAAa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin khawiyatun سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًا فَتَرَى الْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَى كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ
69:8 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them ? Fahal tara lahum min baqiyatin فَهَلْ تَرَى لَهُم مِّن بَاقِيَةٍ
69:9 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, Wajaa firAAawnu waman qablahu waalmu/tafikatu bialkhati-ati وَجَاء فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَن قَبْلَهُ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَاتُ بِالْخَاطِئَةِ
69:10 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. FaAAasaw rasoola rabbihim faakhathahum akhthatan rabiyatan فَعَصَوْا رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةً رَّابِيَةً
69:11 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship Inna lamma tagha almao hamalnakum fee aljariyati إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَى الْمَاء حَمَلْنَاكُمْ فِي الْجَارِيَةِ
69:12 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. LinajAAalaha lakum tathkiratan wataAAiyaha othunun waAAiyatun لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةً وَتَعِيَهَا أُذُنٌ وَاعِيَةٌ
69:13 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast Fa-itha nufikha fee alssoori nafkhatun wahidatun فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ
69:14 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, Wahumilati al-ardu waaljibalu fadukkata dakkatan wahidatan وَحُمِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةً وَاحِدَةً
69:15 Then, on that day will the Event befall. Fayawma-ithin waqaAAati alwaqiAAatu فَيَوْمَئِذٍ وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ
69:16 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. Wainshaqqati alssamao fahiya yawma-ithin wahiyatun وَانشَقَّتِ السَّمَاء فَهِيَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَةٌ
69:17 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. Waalmalaku AAala arja-iha wayahmilu AAarsha rabbika fawqahum yawma-ithin thamaniyatun وَالْمَلَكُ عَلَى أَرْجَائِهَا وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَانِيَةٌ
69:18 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. Yawma-ithin tuAAradoona la takhfa minkum khafiyatun يَوْمَئِذٍ تُعْرَضُونَ لَا تَخْفَى مِنكُمْ خَافِيَةٌ
69:19 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! Faamma man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi fayaqoolu haomu iqraoo kitabiyah فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ فَيَقُولُ هَاؤُمُ اقْرَؤُوا كِتَابِيهْ
69:20 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. Innee thanantu annee mulaqin hisabiyah إِنِّي ظَنَنتُ أَنِّي مُلَاقٍ حِسَابِيهْ
69:21 Then he will be in blissful state Fahuwa fee AAeeshatin radiyatin فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ
69:22 In a high garden Fee jannatin AAaliyatin فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ
69:23 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. Qutoofuha daniyatun قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٌ
69:24 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. Kuloo waishraboo hanee-an bima aslaftum fee al-ayyami alkhaliyati كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِي الْأَيَّامِ الْخَالِيَةِ
69:25 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book Waamma man ootiya kitabahu bishimalihi fayaqoolu ya laytanee lam oota kitabiyah وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِشِمَالِهِ فَيَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَابِيهْ
69:26 And knew not what my reckoning! Walam adri ma hisabiyah وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيهْ
69:27 Oh, would that it had been death! Ya laytaha kanati alqadiyatu يَا لَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ الْقَاضِيَةَ
69:28 My wealth hath not availed me, Ma aghna AAannee maliyah مَا أَغْنَى عَنِّي مَالِيهْ
69:29 My power hath gone from me. Halaka AAannee sultaniyah هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلْطَانِيهْ
69:30 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him Khuthoohu faghulloohu خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ
69:31 And then expose him to hell-fire Thumma aljaheema salloohu ثُمَّ الْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ
69:32 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. Thumma fee silsilatin tharAAuha sabAAoona thiraAAan faoslukoohu ثُمَّ فِي سِلْسِلَةٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًا فَاسْلُكُوهُ
69:33 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, Innahu kana la yu/minu biAllahi alAAatheemi إِنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ
69:34 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. Wala yahuddu AAala taAAami almiskeeni وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ
69:35 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, Falaysa lahu alyawma hahuna hameemun فَلَيْسَ لَهُ الْيَوْمَ هَاهُنَا حَمِيمٌ
69:36 Nor any food save filth Wala taAAamun illa min ghisleenin وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍ
69:37 Which none but sinners eat. La ya/kuluhu illa alkhati-oona لَا يَأْكُلُهُ إِلَّا الْخَاطِؤُونَ
69:38 But nay! I swear by all that ye see Fala oqsimu bima tubsiroona فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ
69:39 And all that ye see not Wama la tubsiroona وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ
69:40 That it is indeed the speech of an illustrious messenger. Innahu laqawlu rasoolin kareemin إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ
69:41 It is not poet's speech - little is it that ye believe! Wama huwa biqawli shaAAirin qaleelan ma tu/minoona وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍ قَلِيلًا مَا تُؤْمِنُونَ
69:42 Nor diviner's speech - little is it that ye remember! Wala biqawli kahinin qaleelan ma tathakkaroona وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍ قَلِيلًا مَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
69:43 It is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
69:44 And if he had invented false sayings concerning Us, Walaw taqawwala AAalayna baAAda al-aqaweeli وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْأَقَاوِيلِ
69:45 We assuredly had taken him by the right hand Laakhathna minhu bialyameeni لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِالْيَمِينِ
69:46 And then severed his life-artery, Thumma laqataAAna minhu alwateena ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ الْوَتِينَ
69:47 And not one of you could have held Us off from him. Fama minkum min ahadin AAanhu hajizeena فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَاجِزِينَ
69:48 And lo! it is a warrant unto those who ward off (evil). Wa-innahu latathkiratun lilmuttaqeena وَإِنَّهُ لَتَذْكِرَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
69:49 And lo! We know that some among you will deny (it). Wa-inna lanaAAlamu anna minkum mukaththibeena وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ
69:50 And lo! it is indeed an anguish for the disbelievers. Wa-innahu lahasratun AAala alkafireena وَإِنَّهُ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ
69:51 And lo! it is absolute truth. Wa-innahu lahaqqu alyaqeeni وَإِنَّهُ لَحَقُّ الْيَقِينِ
69:52 So glorify the name of thy Tremendous Lord. Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ
