Sura Al Buruj 85

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِِ
85:1 By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars, Waalssama-i thati alburooji وَالسَّمَاء ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ
85:2 And by the Promised Day. Waalyawmi almawAAoodi وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُودِ
85:3 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, Washahidin wamashhoodin وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ
85:4 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch Qutila as-habu alukhdoodi قُتِلَ أَصْحَابُ الْأُخْدُودِ
85:5 Of the fuel-fed fire, Alnnari thati alwaqoodi النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُودِ
85:6 When they sat by it, Ith hum AAalayha quAAoodun إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ
85:7 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. Wahum AAala ma yafAAaloona bialmu/mineena shuhoodun وَهُمْ عَلَى مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ
85:8 They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, Wama naqamoo minhum illa an yu/minoo biAllahi alAAazeezi alhameedi وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا أَن يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ
85:9 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. Allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waal-ardi waAllahu AAala kulli shay-in shaheedun الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
85:10 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. Inna allatheena fatanoo almu/mineena waalmu/minati thumma lam yatooboo falahum AAathabu jahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeqi إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيقِ
85:11 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum jannatun tajree min tahtiha al-anharu thalika alfawzu alkabeeru إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ذَلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيرُ
85:12 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. Inna batsha rabbika lashadeedun إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
85:13 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, Innahu huwa yubdi-o wayuAAeedu إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
85:14 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, Wahuwa alghafooru alwadoodu وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ
85:15 Lord of the Throne of Glory, Thoo alAAarshi almajeedi ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيدُ
85:16 Doer of what He will. FaAAAAalun lima yureedu فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
85:17 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts Hal ataka hadeethu aljunoodi هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْجُنُودِ
85:18 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud ? Bali allatheena kafaroo fee taktheebin فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ
85:19 Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial WaAllahu min wara-ihim muheetun بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي تَكْذِيبٍ
85:20 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. Bal huwa qur-anun majeedun وَاللَّهُ مِن وَرَائِهِم مُّحِيطٌ
85:21 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. Fee lawhin mahfoothin بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَّجِيدٌ
85:22 On a guarded tablet. فِي لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍ
