Sura Al Balad 90

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِِ
90:1 Nay, I swear by this city - La oqsimu bihatha albaladi لَا أُقْسِمُ بِهَذَا الْبَلَدِ
90:2 And thou art an indweller of this city - Waanta hillun bihatha albaladi وَأَنتَ حِلٌّ بِهَذَا الْبَلَدِ
90:3 And the begetter and that which he begat, Wawalidin wama walada وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ
90:4 We verily have created man in an atmosphere: Laqad khalaqna al-insana fee kabadin لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ فِي كَبَدٍ
90:5 Thinketh he that none hath power over him ? Ayahsabu an lan yaqdira AAalayhi ahadun أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ
90:6 And he saith: I have destroyed vast wealth: Yaqoolu ahlaktu malan lubadan يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُّبَدًا
90:7 Thinketh he that none beholdeth him ? Ayahsabu an lam yarahu ahadun أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ
90:8 Did We not assign unto him two eyes Alam najAAal lahu AAaynayni أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُ عَيْنَيْنِ
90:9 And a tongue and two lips, Walisanan washafatayni وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ
90:10 And guide him to the parting of the mountain ways ? Wahadaynahu alnnajdayni وَهَدَيْنَاهُ النَّجْدَيْنِ
90:11 But he hath not attempted the Ascent - Fala iqtahama alAAaqabata فَلَا اقْتَحَمَ الْعَقَبَةَ
90:12 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Ascent is! - Wama adraka ma alAAaqabatu وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْعَقَبَةُ
90:13 (It is) to free a slave, Fakku raqabatin فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ
90:14 And to feed in the day of hunger. Aw itAAamun fee yawmin thee masghabatin أَوْ إِطْعَامٌ فِي يَوْمٍ ذِي مَسْغَبَةٍ
90:15 An orphan near of kin, Yateeman tha maqrabatin يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ
90:16 Or some poor wretch in misery, Aw miskeenan tha matrabatin أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ
90:17 And to be of those who believe and exhort one another to perseverance and exhort one another to pity. Thumma kana mina allatheena amanoo watawasaw bialssabri watawasaw bialmarhamati ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْمَرْحَمَةِ
90:18 Their place will be on the right hand. Ola-ika as-habu almaymanati أُوْلَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ
90:19 But those who disbelieve Our revelations, their place will be on the left hand. Waallatheena kafaroo bi-ayatina hum as-habu almash-amati وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ
90:20 Fire will be an awning over them. AAalayhim narun mu/sadatun عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُّؤْصَدَةٌ
