Sura Al Waki'a 56

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِِ
56:1 When the event befalleth - Itha waqaAAati alwaqiAAatu إِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ
56:2 There is no denying that it will befall - Laysa liwaqAAatiha kathibatun لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ
56:3 Abasing (some), exalting (others); Khafidatun rafiAAatun خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ
56:4 When the earth is shaken with a shock Itha rujjati al-ardu rajjan إِذَا رُجَّتِ الْأَرْضُ رَجًّا
56:5 And the hills are ground to powder Wabussati aljibalu bassan وَبُسَّتِ الْجِبَالُ بَسًّا
56:6 So that they become a scattered dust, Fakanat habaan munbaththan فَكَانَتْ هَبَاء مُّنبَثًّا
56:7 And ye will be three kinds: Wakuntum azwajan thalathatan وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَاجًا ثَلَاثَةً
56:8 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand ? Faas-habu almaymanati ma as-habu almaymanati فَأَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ
56:9 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand ? Waas-habu almash-amati ma as-habu almash-amati وَأَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ
56:10 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: Waalssabiqoona alssabiqoona وَالسَّابِقُونَ السَّابِقُونَ
56:11 Those are they who will be brought nigh Ola-ika almuqarraboona أُوْلَئِكَ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ
56:12 In gardens of delight; Fee jannati alnnaAAeemi فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ
56:13 A multitude of those of old Thullatun mina al-awwaleena ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ
56:14 And a few of those of later time. Waqaleelun mina al-akhireena وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنَ الْآخِرِينَ
56:15 On lined couches, AAala sururin mawdoonatin عَلَى سُرُرٍ مَّوْضُونَةٍ
56:16 Reclining therein face to face. Muttaki-eena AAalayha mutaqabileena مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَابِلِينَ
56:17 There wait on them immortal youths Yatoofu AAalayhim wildanun mukhalladoona يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ
56:18 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring Bi-akwabin waabareeqa waka/sin min maAAeenin بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ
56:19 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, La yusaddaAAoona AAanha wala yunzifoona لَا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ
56:20 And fruit that they prefer Wafakihatin mimma yatakhayyaroona وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ
56:21 And flesh of fowls that they desire. Walahmi tayrin mimma yashtahoona وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
56:22 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, Wahoorun AAeenun وَحُورٌ عِينٌ
56:23 Like unto hidden pearls, Kaamthali allu/lui almaknooni كَأَمْثَالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمَكْنُونِ
56:24 Reward for what they used to do. Jazaan bima kanoo yaAAmaloona جَزَاء بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
56:25 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala ta/theeman لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا
56:26 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. Illa qeelan salaman salaman إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَامًا سَلَامًا
56:27 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand ? Waas-habu alyameeni ma as-habu alyameeni وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ
56:28 Among thornless lote-trees Fee sidrin makhdoodin فِي سِدْرٍ مَّخْضُودٍ
56:29 And clustered plantains, Watalhin mandoodin وَطَلْحٍ مَّنضُودٍ
56:30 And spreading shade, Wathillin mamdoodin وَظِلٍّ مَّمْدُودٍ
56:31 And water gushing, Wama-in maskoobin وَمَاء مَّسْكُوبٍ
56:32 And fruit in plenty Wafakihatin katheeratin وَفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ
56:33 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, La maqtooAAatin wala mamnooAAatin لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ
56:34 And raised couches; Wafurushin marfooAAatin وَفُرُشٍ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ
56:35 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation Inna ansha/nahunna inshaan إِنَّا أَنشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنشَاء
56:36 And made them virgins, FajaAAalnahunna abkaran فَجَعَلْنَاهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا
56:37 Lovers, friends, AAuruban atraban عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا
56:38 For those on the right hand; Li-as-habi alyameeni لِّأَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ
56:39 A multitude of those of old Thullatun mina al-awwaleena ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ
56:40 And a multitude of those of later time. Wathullatun mina al-akhireena وَثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْآخِرِينَ
56:41 And those on the left hand: What of those on the left hand ? Waas-habu alshshimali ma as-habu alshshimali وَأَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ
56:42 In scorching wind and scalding water Fee samoomin wahameemin فِي سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ
56:43 And shadow of black smoke, Wathillin min yahmoomin وَظِلٍّ مِّن يَحْمُومٍ
56:44 Neither cool nor refreshing. La baridin wala kareemin لَّا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ
56:45 Lo! heretofore they were effete with luxury Innahum kanoo qabla thalika mutrafeena إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ
56:46 And used to persist in the awful sin. Wakanoo yusirroona AAala alhinthi alAAatheemi وَكَانُوا يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى الْحِنثِ الْعَظِيمِ
56:47 And they used to say: When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again, Wakanoo yaqooloona a-itha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman a-inna lamabAAoothoona وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَئِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
56:48 And also our forefathers ? Awa abaona al-awwaloona أَوَ آبَاؤُنَا الْأَوَّلُونَ
56:49 Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Lo! those of old and those of later time Qul inna al-awwaleena waal-akhireena قُلْ إِنَّ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ
56:50 Will all be brought together to the tryst of an appointed day. LamajmooAAoona ila meeqati yawmin maAAloomin لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَى مِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
56:51 Then lo! ye, the erring, the deniers, Thumma innakum ayyuha alddalloona almukaththiboona ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا الضَّالُّونَ الْمُكَذِّبُونَ
56:52 Ye verily will eat of a tree called Zaqqum Laakiloona min shajarin min zaqqoomin لَآكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍ مِّن زَقُّومٍ
56:53 And will fill your bellies therewith; Famali-oona minha albutoona فَمَالِؤُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ
56:54 And thereon ye will drink of boiling water, Fashariboona AAalayhi mina alhameemi فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ
56:55 Drinking even as the camel drinketh. Fashariboona shurba alheemi فَشَارِبُونَ شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ
56:56 This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment. Hatha nuzuluhum yawma alddeeni هَذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ
56:57 We created you. Will ye then admit the truth ? Nahnu khalaqnakum falawla tusaddiqoona نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ
56:58 Have ye seen that which ye emit ? Afaraaytum ma tumnoona أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ
56:59 Do ye create it or are We the Creator ? Aantum takhluqoonahu am nahnu alkhaliqoona أَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْخَالِقُونَ
56:60 We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun, Nahnu qaddarna baynakumu almawta wama nahnu bimasbooqeena نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ
56:61 That We may transfigure you and make you what ye know not. AAala an nubaddila amthalakum wanunshi-akum fee ma la taAAlamoona عَلَى أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
56:62 And verily ye know the first creation. Why, then, do ye not reflect ? Walaqad AAalimtumu alnnash-ata al-oola falawla tathakkaroona وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَى فَلَوْلَا تَذكَّرُونَ
56:63 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate ? Afaraaytum ma tahruthoona أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ
56:64 Is it ye who foster it, or are We the Fosterer ? Aantum tazraAAoonahu am nahnu alzzariAAoona أَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ
56:65 If We willed, We verily could make it chaff, then would ye cease not to exclaim: Law nashao lajaAAalnahu hutaman fathaltum tafakkahoona لَوْ نَشَاء لَجَعَلْنَاهُ حُطَامًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ
56:66 Lo! we are laden with debt! Inna lamughramoona إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ
56:67 Nay, but we are deprived! Bal nahnu mahroomoona بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ
56:68 Have ye observed the water which ye drink ? Afaraaytumu almaa allathee tashraboona أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاء الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ
56:69 Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder ? Aantum anzaltumoohu mina almuzni am nahnu almunziloona أَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنزِلُونَ
56:70 If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give ye not thanks ? Law nashao jaAAalnahu ojajan falawla tashkuroona لَوْ نَشَاء جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ
56:71 Have ye observed the fire which ye strike out; Afaraaytumu alnnara allatee tooroona أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ
56:72 Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower ? Aantum ansha/tum shajarataha am nahnu almunshi-oona أَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنشِؤُونَ
56:73 We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. Nahnu jaAAalnaha tathkiratan wamataAAan lilmuqweena نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ
56:74 Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ
56:75 Nay, I swear by the places of the stars - Fala oqsimu bimawaqiAAi alnnujoomi فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ
56:76 And lo! that verily is a tremendous oath, if ye but knew - Wa-innahu laqasamun law taAAlamoona AAatheemun وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ
56:77 That (this) is indeed a noble Qur'an Innahu laqur-anun kareemun إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ
56:78 In a Book kept hidden Fee kitabin maknoonin فِي كِتَابٍ مَّكْنُونٍ
56:79 Which none toucheth save the purified, La yamassuhu illa almutahharoona لَّا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ
56:80 A revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
56:81 Is it this Statement that ye scorn, Afabihatha alhadeethi antum mudhinoona أَفَبِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ
56:82 And make denial thereof your livelihood ? WatajAAaloona rizqakum annakum tukaththiboona وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ
56:83 Why, then, when (the soul) cometh up to the throat (of the dying) Falawla itha balaghati alhulqooma فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ
56:84 And ye are at that moment looking Waantum heena-ithin tanthuroona وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ
56:85 - And We are nearer unto him than ye are, but ye see not - Wanahnu aqrabu ilayhi minkum walakin la tubsiroona وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ
56:86 Why then, if ye are not in bondage (unto Us), Falawla in kuntum ghayra madeeneena فَلَوْلَا إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ
56:87 Do ye not force it back, if ye are truthful ? TarjiAAoonaha in kuntum sadiqeena تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
56:88 Thus if he is of those brought nigh, Faamma in kana mina almuqarrabeena فَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ
56:89 Then breath of life, and plenty, and a Garden of delight. Farawhun warayhanun wajannatu naAAeemin فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّةُ نَعِيمٍ
56:90 And if he is of those on the right hand, Waamma in kana min as-habi alyameeni وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ
56:91 Then (the greeting) "Peace be unto thee" from those on the right hand. Fasalamun laka min as-habi alyameeni فَسَلَامٌ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ
56:92 But if he is of the rejecters, the erring, Waamma in kana mina almukaththibeena alddalleena وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ الضَّالِّينَ
56:93 Then the welcome will be boiling water Fanuzulun min hameemin فَنُزُلٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ
56:94 And roasting at hell-fire. Watasliyatu jaheemin وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ
56:95 Lo! this is certain truth. Inna hatha lahuwa haqqu alyaqeeni إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ الْيَقِينِ
56:96 Therefor (O Muhammad) praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ
